Day 2 Radical Compassion - Your Gateway to Security

At the heart of every Yoga Body Cleanse lies a foundational principle: Presence. Our bodies deeply crave our attention, and our mere presence is an act of love. I emphasize this often because it’s true: presence is the connection between our Awareness and the life within us. It’s why it tops my list of core values every time.

As we explore the Root Chakra, the center of safety and security, we build patterns of grounded stability by recognizing how we are secure in this very moment. By bringing radical compassion to places where safety has been shaken, we can begin to heal. You might just breath into this awareness all day long and that will be enough.

Today, let’s draw ourselves closer to kindness by adopting a gentler perspective toward ourselves and our bodies. As we shift in this way, we confront the unseen toxins that have impacted our sense of security. One of these toxins includes self-betrayal—not outright hatred, but those moments when our thoughts or actions toward ourselves aren’t so kind. These subtle missteps ripple into our sense of security.

Compassion, at its essence, is the ability to be present with someone or something that is suffering. Can I be with this? It is an essential mindfulness practice that calls for action—bringing kindness and presence to discomfort, pain, resistance, resentment, or regret. We move closer to our bodies with wonder and care.  Appreciation emerges and we meet ourselves.  As we deepen our connection to radical compassion, we naturally align with new actions and behaviors, guiding us toward greater self-acceptance and a profound sense of security.

As we follow this path to Awareness, we meet the presence within—and find that only love lives there. We learn new ways to comfort ourselves that can be found outside of a pint of ice cream.

Presence is the part of us that animates when we are connected to Awareness.
