On Demand - Day 4
Day 4 | Radical Compassion
At the heart of every Yoga Body Cleanse lies a foundational principle: Presence. Our body wants our presence. I emphasize this repeatedly because our bodies crave our attention, and our mere presence is an expression of love. I believe in it so much that it always tops my list with core values. Presence is the part of us that animates when we are connected to Awareness.
Today, let's draw ourselves closer to kindness, adopting a gentler perspective towards both our selves and our bodies. By doing so, we confront the pervasive toxin of self-betrayal, recognizing that, while we may not harbor hatred towards ourselves, sometimes we behave and think in ways that aren’t very nice to ourselves, both physically or emotionally.
The very essence of compassion is the ability to be with someone or something that is suffering. Can I be with this? Compassion is an essential mindfulness practice and it includes bringing a kind lens to whatever part of us is experiencing discomfort, pain, resistance, resentment, or regret.
If we are to really clear toxic debris in our body, then we take a brave look at the insidious toxin of should-ing on ourselves all the time. We move closer to our body with wonder and care. Appreciation emerges and we meet ourselves. As we become more connected to our truth, we may find ourselves aligning to new actions and new behaviors, guiding us on a path of self-acceptance and compassion.
As we follow the path to Awareness, we meet a presence within us and there is only love there.
