Day 4 | Energy Leaks
Oooooohhh, child… things are gonna get easier.
Oooooh child… things will get brighter.
But… not if we keep carrying around the weight of things we are tolerating —
things we can actually do something about.
Today we take a deeper look at how to clear space — and how to identify the things that are quietly leaking your energy.
Often, these are open loops we simply and bravely need to close.
Sure, you can take the Marie Kondo route and feng shui your kitchen.
Clean out the refrigerator, clear what’s old, and keep what’s fresh. That is always supportive.
But today, I want to invite you to go deeper.
To look behind the curtain.
What is the elemental debris that needs clearing?
What is something that, if you addressed it, you would feel more free?
In other words…
what are you tolerating in your life that is leaking your energy?
Having tolerations is like trying to drink from a cup with tiny holes in it.
The water leaks out.
Your energy leaks out.
Tolerations can be so small that they’re easy to ignore:
– the water filter you keep forgetting to change
– the phone you can’t use to take photos because your storage is full
– the dental appointment you keep postponing
– the dreaded return you never made to the post office
And they can be pivotal:
– having the brave talk with your partner
– moving a loved one to assisted living so they have proper support
– choosing a course of action for a health concern
– leaving a job that was familiar but no longer supports you
They can hum quietly in the background like white noise.
But once you clear them, there is a lift.
Your mind no longer has to track them.
Your somatic system softens.
To find what you are tolerating, start simply: make a list.
It’s not always the same as your to-do list — though they can overlap.
You may want to revisit the Inventory Assessment Quiz, which explores areas from relationships and finances to health and home.
Some tolerations are surprisingly small, yet feel heavy.
Others are more pivotal — and when you clear one big toleration, many smaller ones often dissolve with it.
Addressing tolerations helps you:
– clear the past
– restore integrity
– get your needs met
– simplify your life
And the ripple effect is real.
The mind chatter quiets.
Presence increases.
Your cup fills.
This is yoga in motion.
Drink up.
I love you. Keep going!
Alex
ACTION
Make a list of 10 tolerations you would like to clear
Take the Inventory Assessment Quiz if you’d like to go deeper:
Choose one toleration and make a plan to address it. Set a date.
Find someone to help you be accountable (you can always share it with me).
Optional: seek coaching or guidance around larger tolerations. I both offer coaching and work with a coach — it has been extraordinarily impactful in my life.
JOURNAL
If you feel resistance, explore:
What about this is causing me to tolerate it?
What part of this can I control? What part can I not?
What part of me is familiar with this toleration and afraid to change it?
When have I been through something similar before?
What would it feel like once this is cleared?
What part of me will grow when I address this?
“Some day, yeah
We’ll put it together and we’ll get it undone
Some day
When your head is much lighter
Some day, yeah
We’ll walk in the rays of a beautiful sun
Some day
When the world is much brighter”
